Vacations, Salaries and Benefits

Vacation:

Each resident is given 3 weeks of vacation per year.  PGY-1 residents are required to take their 3rd week of vacation the last week of their PGY-1 training.  PGY2-3 residents are required to take 1 week of vacation during their Elective block each year.  Vacation may be taken in a 2-week block or split into two 1-week blocks. 

Residents are given the opportunity to provide their preferences of when they would like to take their vacation.  It is unusual for a resident to get any lower than her/his second request.
