Moi Teaching HospitalThanks to our partnership with Indiana University School of Medicine and Moi University in Eldoret, Kenya, 4 residents per year are able to spend one month essentially functioning as teaching attendings on the wards at Moi University Teaching and Referral Hospital.  Airfare is paid for by the department, and modern accommodations are available at IU house.  This unique experience provides housestaff and students the opportunity to care for patients with HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis and unusual infectious and metabolic diseases not commonly encountered in the United States.

In addition, 2 residents per year have the opportunity to complete a one month rotation at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi ,Ghana.  This is part of an exciting new partnership with the University of Science and Technology School of Medical Sciences in Ghana.  The setting is primarily inpatient at a regional tertiary care center, and our residents serve as primary providers treating a wide spectrum of diseases as well as teachers to medical students and mid-level providers.
